Rice Cereal!

Mommy and Daddy spent the weekend working in the yard (mostly pulling weeds), then Daddy fertilized, seeded, and did lots of watering after someone came to aerate. Thankfully, Addie was a good sport (for most of the time) and played in her exersaucer as she watched us work. We are glad to be done working on that and are now hoping for some grass!

A close-up of Addie hanging out while we worked. We liked the hat on her.
Rice cereal all over the face! She seemed to enjoy the new experience of eating from a spoon. As you will see below, she wasn't exactly sure of what to think, but she did well.
Happy half-birthday, Addie! As many of you know, I grew up in a family that celebrated half-birthdays...my whole life-not just when we turned 6 months old. So, Addie's very first half-birthday was on Sunday and she got a few presents that you will see below. This was her excited face-she couldn't wait to find out what was behind the wrapping paper!
Mommy and Daddy got her 2 toys-the leap frog and the push-down popper thing (I have no idea what it is called). Dottie and Pops got her a Christmas ornament (baby's first Christmas), and Nana and Poppi are coming up this weekend and will bring her something as well. She seems to like everything.
Happy to be 6 months old! She had her 6 month check-up on Monday and has been doing some growing...not so much out, but up. She weighs 13 lb. 2 oz. (3-10%), 16 cm head circumference (10%), and for the big one...26 in tall, which is the 50%! She has never had anything be above the 25%, so that was HUGE! Thankfully, the doctor said she seemed very healthy and right on track developmentally, which we are so thankful for.
Now, for the exciting videos. Here is Addie's first opportunity to eat anything but straight milk. We thought she did pretty well for it being the first time (please turn off the sound on your computer now so as to avoid having to hear my voice here):

And here is Addie eating rice cereal just a few days later...what a change!

As I have mentioned before, Addie loves her Daddy. This is something new she has started to enjoy. It is the first time we have noticed that she has specifically "asked" for one of us to continue doing something. And of course, Daddy continued doing this until his jaws couldn't move any longer.
