Pool progression

I decided to get Addie's baby pool out for the first time last week, thinking Addie would love it, seeing as she loves taking baths. But, she was a little hesitant. As you will see below, it took her a while before she was actually comfortable getting in the water. For the most part, Addie does not seem to be very afraid of things. But sometimes, when she is encountering something new, she has to check it out for a little bit before getting too involved. Such was the case with the pool. Thankfully, she ended up getting in the water and absolutely loving it. Also thankfully, it wore her out enough for her to take her afternoon nap-something she had been fighting the previous days!

For a while, I thought this was as close as Addie was going to get to the water.
I convinced her to sit in my lap and put her feet in the water with mine.

And I even snuck away from her to get a picture and she was okay with it-as long as she still got to lean up against the chair.

Success! I eventually just slid her on down into the water and she loved it...especially splashing and getting herself wet all over-including her hair and face! I think we will be breaking the pool out a lot this summer!
